1. General Statement
Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI) fully respects your right to privacy, and will not collect any personal information without your consent. Any personal information which you provide to IFI will be treated with the highest standards of security and confidentiality, strictly in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. Collection and use of Personal Information
When submitting an application for funding IFI will collect and process the following categories of personal data:
Identity Data – First name, last name
Contact Data - Organisation address, email address, telephone number
Financial Data – Bank account details
We process your personal information for the purposes of assessing, administering and processing of your application for funding under the IFI funding schemes. It will also be used for the purposes of communicating with you in relation to your application and to engage with project promoters during project delivery and sign off. Bank account details are required to process the payment of funds for successful applications. Your personal information, including financial information, is required for the processing of your application and we will not be able to provide funding without it.

IFI shall perform its responsibilities under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in accordance with the following six data protection Principles:

- Data Minimisation
- Accuracy
- Storage limitation
- Integrity and Confidentiality
4. Your Rights as a Data Subject
As a data subject you have the following rights under GDPR:
Right to Correction of personal data: You can request us to rectify any personal data that we are processing about you which is inaccurate.
Right to withdraw consent: Under the new regulation consent should be freely given, specific, informed and provided via an unambiguous indication. Where we have relied upon your consent to process your personal data, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time.
Right of erasure: You can request us to erase your personal data where there is no compelling reason to continue processing. This right only applies in certain circumstances, it is not a guaranteed or absolute right.
Right to data portability: You can request us to provide your personal data to you in a format which enables you to transfer that personal data to another organisation. You may have the right to have your personal data transferred by us directly to third party organisations if this is technically feasible.
Right to restrict processing of personal data: In certain circumstances you can request us to suspend our processing of your personal data. Where we suspend our processing of your personal data we will still be permitted to store your personal data, but any other processing of this information will require your consent, subject to certain exemptions.
Right to object to processing of personal data: You have the right to object to our use of your personal data which is processed on the basis of our legitimate interests. However, we may continue to process your personal data, despite your objection, where there are compelling legitimate business reasons to do so or we need to process your personal data in connection with any legal claims.
If you would like to make a complaint relating to the collection or processing of your personal data you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Supervisory Authority which is the Data Protection Commission. The DPC contact details are:

5. Information Sharing
We do not share or disclose any of your personal information without your consent, other than for the purposes specified in this Privacy statement or where there is a legal requirement. We use a third party for the purposes of facilitating your application and we have a data processing agreement in place with this provider.
6. How long do we keep your information for?
We retain all successful applications for an indefinite period to fulfil any auditing requirements and ensure the ability of Inland Fisheries Ireland to review amounts awarded going back a number of years.
Unsuccessful/uncompleted applications will be kept for a period of up to 7 years at which stage they will be purged form the system.
